What many of you don't know about the sunless industry is there are many solutions for a business to use on clients. From very cheap to high end solutions which offer a 2 for 1 skin treatment while you process. I do weekly research to know whats new on the market so that I'm using the best products I can for your tan. One amazing ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid....read on to find out about this Anti-Aging powerhouse. A spotlight on ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid and what it does for the skin is really amazing. It something your body produces naturally but decreases as we get older. Here are just a few of the benefits of this magic Anti-Aging ingredient; It attracts and binds water within the cells in the tissue under the skin. Literally acting like a sponge to retain supple firm skintone and youthful appearance. It actually can absorb 1,000 x's its weight in water with in the skins tissue. Very few products use the amazing ingredient due to its significant cost in comparison to inferior ingredients. Not only does it deliver results it supplies the skin with superior hydration and other important elements to fight lines and wrinkles on a regular basis. In my sunless Prep its actually the 4th ingredient which is why I call it my insurance especially dealing with winter skin in the NW. My Organic based solutions also contain Hyaluronic acid in high quantities as well as other Organic elements like Organic aloe, Organic Chinese Jojoba sees oil, Organic Caffeine seed and Organic essential oils. So now you have an idea of why prices for a sunless tan range from 20.00 up to 75.00 or more. You do get what you pay for when looking for a sunless tan, so be a client in the know and ask your tech about the ingredients in their solutions. Cheers! 1 Comment Divine party girl skin! 12/27/2010
Now that the Christmas holiday is over next up on the Calendar is NYE 2011! I wanted to give a few tips on looking amazing...whether or not your going to the hottest party in town or staying home with your sweetie. As always first up is sloughing off that dead skin, I really can't say enough of this beauty ritual that is soooo good for your skin on many levels. Besides doing it for your sunless tan it can help with breakouts, dry skin and even lessen unevenness in the skin tone. To give your skin more TLC and ease dry skin would be to add some essential oils to your bath, keeping the water warm not HOT which is even more drying to the epidermis. After your bath make sure to pat dry with your towel as you would when you have your sunless glow to help seal in the oils from your bath. Follow up with a high quality lotion to seal in even more moisture...your skin will feel amazing. One easy and free thing you can do for your skin is to make sure you drink enough water. Keeping hydrated from the inside out is very important for glowing skin, it will also help your sunless tan last longer as well. My clients that use a good lotion and drink adequate amounts of H2O notice a difference in their tan lasting longer, taking more evenly (less dry patchy areas) So drink up gals! Finally when you have made these tips part of your beauty regimen the difference in how you will feel about the biggest organ on you will be amazing. Confidence in how you feel about yourself is sexy...period! Cheers Lovelies! On a serious note...Melanoma. 12/15/2010
I realize there are still plenty of people that have the mindset it won't happen to me, the fact is that skin cancer is the fastest growing type of cancer. The young women between the ages of 22- 28 have the highest number of cases due to over use of Tanning Beds and sunbathing. Most Americans over do it when it comes to the sun, espeically when you live in an area like Seattle. When ever the sun comes out here, seems lots of people head outside; no sunscreen mind you...and get burned. Every burn you gets ups your risk of Skin Cancer by over 50%! On the other hand the debate especially in the NW is that we are VERY deficient in Vitamin D, we all should be taking a supplement on a daily basis. We also need natural Vit. D that the sun provides and about 10 minutes or so w/o sunscreen is plenty. My Aunt was recently diagnosed with Brain Cancer...believe it or not it ALL started with a melanoma that they found on her arm! It was removed but the cancer unbeknown to the doctor had spread to her Brain and now part of her lung as well. My Aunt has never been a sun worshiper and is fair skin, but she loves to work in the garden and be outdoors...with sunscreen. I mention this about my Aunt because for those of you who use tanning beds to get your "glow" you will regret it someday...it will catch up with you. Whether its from saggy skin, wrinkles, sun spots or worse skin cancer the clock is ticking. I hope this makes you think next time you stop by your local tanning salon....GO Sunless its the only way to get a Safe Tan...Period. Thanks for listening! Happy December to you! 12/06/2010

A little tip for those of you using products for oily skin or acne like ProActive, over the counter medications for acne or Retin-A These products will remove a tan fast from the face unfortunately, They are designed to keep the skin free of dead skin cells, excess oil to keep break outs to a minimum. If you are using any products that are prescribed by a dermatologist or doctor then its VERY important to let your artist know this beforehand. They can lead to a spotty or splotchy tan on your face and chest area. When using these products of course they will get on your hands and remove the tan from there as well. :/ For Brides talk to your doctor about going off the Retin-A before your wedding and getting a sunless tan 2-3 weeks before hand is the best as the medication take awhile to get out of your system especially if you have been on it for awhile. One more thing for those of you with large pores on your face, chest and neck area...its a good idea to have your face sprayed lighter or with a clear solution so you do not get "dirty pores" once the solution is done processing it will look like you have blackheads. NOT a pretty thing! Cheers Lovelies! A helping hand...for local charity 11/10/2010

It seems I come up against this alot in what I do and thats a certain stigma that sunless tanning has associated with it. Alot of people who have tried some form of sunless...a booth, hand applied or sprayed on by a tech. The problem is people think... well I won't do that again it didn't work or looked horrible because it was spotty or way to dark for your skin tone. Most consumers don't know that the sunless industry is not regulated, so ANYONE can go pick up a machine and solutions and just start spraying people. All they need is a business license with the state and county they are operating a business in...thats all. Some sunless companies offer training when you buy a package with them but always an additional cost, most think.. "oh this is easy I don't need to spend money on training" IF it was sooooo easy how come there are so many bad spray tans out there? Alot of bad tans come from unprepared clients and technicians who have no idea about skin, skin tones or know even how to do a consultation. When looking for a professional check out their reviews, ask about training and ask questions about them and their reason for offering this service. You as a client have a right to know that who will be spraying you knows what they are doing before you even make an appointment. Be proactive in your own glow! Cheers Lovelies! Making your tan last! 10/25/2010
When you have a session with me I always give you tips on how to make your glow last and fade just like a real tan. I decided to give a little low down here on my blog for those of you who may not be able to have a session with me. ~First I always tell my clients to use high quality products to exfoliate and hydrate their skin. Cheap products have junk them; yes I'm a product snob! (wink) ~Exfoliate on a regular basis, not just once right before your tan. ~You can make your own simple scrub; granulated sugar and a Rami mitt or washcloth. ~Hydrate your skin from the inside out; Drink lots of water and use a great lotion. ~Do not spray perfume on your chest, spray it on your clothes. Your tan can get splotchy here due to the build up of perfume it permeates the skin w/repeated use. ~Stay away from really hot showers and NO baths till you want to remove the tan. When your ready to do that take a HOT batch with some baby oil and baking soda and soak for 10min then stand up and scrub. ~If you skip days of putting lotion on your skin then it will fade quicker and can get splotchy...A real tan does the same thing. Its your natural cells shedding, they don't shed evenly. ~The more you do sunless the better it keeps taking, Even my clients who do it only once a month find that it looks so natural. ~Before working out put a little cornstarch based powder on the shoulders, between breasts, under underarms. Then when done make sure to rinse off the sweat don't let it sit on your skin to dry, sweat has all those toxins that you just got out of your body...so rinse! Hope this helps you get good sunless even if I can't be the one giving it to you! Cheers! Embracing a softer side of sunless 10/10/2010
When most think of a sunless tan the image of a really tan look is about the only option when in reality sunless can be many different colors. Many first time clients especially ones that are fair don't realize that when getting a sunless tan that they can actually have something that is soft and pretty. My favorite is actually to keep it on the medium to light side as this is most natural looking for our area here in Seattle. When proper care is given it will look just like a real tan and gradually fade away. If your going on Vacation to someplace warm or tropical you can have a little more fun and I recommend a tan extender to take with you to keep a safe glow going. But in Seattle this time of year now thru New Years soft and glowing is just the ticket! So remember to do good prep and it will keep people guessing because it will look so natural and pretty they won't guess its Faux Tan! Mommy power~! 10/05/2010
Being a Mom myself its defiantly been an adventure to say the least! Being in the sunless industry for as long as I have has also let me help alot of Mom's feel just a little sexier, more self confident and just pretty about themselves. Whether its going on vacation to Hawaii or putting on a cocktail dress after losing the baby weight...which is a celebration in itself!! As the seasons change I personally start to feel a little pasty and kind of blah at the thought of a NW winter on the horizon. Its actually my favorite time of year to have a sunless tan, picks me up and puts a smile on my face. The biggest change that you need to remember is to go lighter than in the summer months so thats its not obvious that you just got a spray tan. As a Mom any thing that makes you feel better, sexier, prettier or makes you smile is all good!! I think the men in your life would agree as well. ;) Mom's you want to make sure that if your nursing that when you get one that you cover up your nipples as its a membrane directly into your bloodstream. NOT something you need in your body while breastfeeding or pumping! I always have my pregnant Mom's to be wear a mask during their session and I also have protective eye glasses if needed as well. One note is to stay OUT of the spray booths while you are pregnant, inhaling that thick mist is not good for you or little on on board!! Ask your doc he will agree, get a professionally applied sunless tan. This is not the time to go the inexpensive route. So for all the Mom's when you need a little pick-me-up try some sunless for some sexy glow just for you and the other benefits (boyfriend, husband or partner thinking you look smokin hot!!) are not bad either...
