Before your session...
~Make sure these appointments are done BEFORE your session please; Mani/pedi, Waxing 24-48hrs ahead of time, Hair coloring if its an all over color, haircuts and body massages 24 hours or more before your appointment. If you are using Acutaine or have recently had major surgery or are on heavy medications its best to wait at least a week to get the meds out of your body and off your skin. Schedule facials at least 3 days before and IF you are nursing please make sure to give that info when scheduling your appointment.
~Soak in a hot bath or take a hot shower then use any products that you need to like soap, shampoo or shaving with a new blade then exfoliate
using either a mitt or a puff and just water to remove all residues from previous products. If time allows Exfoliate more than once before your session, especially if you do not do it regularly. Please stay away from cheap soaps especially Dove, deodorant bars and other highly commercialized products. If your a soap person then try a coconut or olive oil based soap...if your on Instagram please follow @divinebeautifulskin for great natural and organic recommendations. You may use a high quality moisturizing lotion like coconut oil, shea butter or a rich body butter but stay away from them 24 hours before your appointment please. The oil can interfere with the absorption of the solution and cause uneven color or lack of color.
~If you have truly sensitive skin please let us know before your session, If you are pregnant inform us as well especially if you are not showing yet. Having a spray tan in the first trimester can be unpredictable due to so much going on with hormones and the skin.
~Make sure to have LOOSE dark clothes for after out n ready so you don't have to dig thru your stuff after your tan.
~Its a good idea if you are having to process overnight to change your sheets to dark ones or old ones you don't care about to prevent any possible staining.
Day of your appointment and After care...
~When I arrive please have all jewelry off, hair pulled up and off face and neck.
~Have your after clothes ready to go
~~The day of your session make sure you have No Deodorant, lotion or Makeup on your skin. Do no shave or take a shower and use products right before as well, all products leave behind residue which will interfere with how your color takes on your skin. Product residue can create a streaky tan...Not the look your want!
~You may use a fan or a hair dryer to dry quicker if you wish but drying time is not long.
~When you take your post shower please refrain from hot showers; fades the tan quicker and dries out your skin! Pat dry with your towel and have a high quality lotion ready use head to toe. Stay away from anti-aging or Acne products they are designed to remove dead skin...fade your tan quick!
~Avoid exfoliating, washcloths, hot tubs and excessive swimming and sweating can also fade it quicker. Its best to take a shower right after working out to get the sweat off our skin, same with chlorine or salt water.
~The better you prepare and care for your tan will determine how long it will last. Many of my clients tell me on average one session last about 7-10 days then its time to scrub it off and get a fresh glow!
A few of my favorite things...
~some great clothes to wear afterwards are drawstring type bottoms, loose fitting hoodie, tank tops, v-neck short sleeve t's, flip-flops, Loose slide type of shoes.
~Buy high quality body products NOT cheap ones that are filled with chemicals there is a reason those products are cheap...cheap goes in the bottle! look for ones that are free of Petro-chemicals, Sodium Laureth/lauryl Sulfates or SLS's, Parabens, BHT. I advise this even when you don't have your tan your skin will thank you for it!! If you need any help let me know be happy to.
