Awww spring is finally close enough to touch and I'm so very happy about that! I love to see the spring flowers and warmer temps coming back slowly and people are starting to uncover a little now.
As every spring I like to post a reminder of spring tips to get the most out of your sunless tan. For the most part we have been covered up thru another Seattle winter. Now its time to start up with our beauty routine for the upcoming summer season. One very important habit to get into is exfoliating and make it a habit...period. Its the only beauty secret that is practically free... ok so a puff is a couple bucks. BUT the rewards are glowing skin that is softer and less dull and flaky...so much prettier than flakes. Yikes! When prepping for your tan make sure to do it as much as you can before your session as possible, gently but thoroughly. Use a good quality hydrating lotion everynight up till your appt. Remember to use oil based exfoliants 48hr or more ahead of time to make sure the residue is off your skin. Get those mani/Pedi's day before and waxing 2days before your session as well. When doing sugaring you have no worries I can actually tan you right after with ease. Keep the day of your session simple..nothing on your skin. Please do not exfoliate right before your appt. as opening up pores right before is not the best idea. One more little tip...Stop spraying perfume directly on your chest, it leads to splotchy skin and so not attractive. (Wink!) Cheers Lovelies and Looking forward to bringing your glow to your front door!

When most think of a sunless tan the image of a really tan look is about the only option when in reality sunless can be many different colors.
Many first time clients especially ones that are fair don't realize that when getting a sunless tan that they can actually have something that is soft and pretty. My favorite is actually to keep it on the medium to light side as this is most natural looking for our area here in Seattle. When proper care is given it will look just like a real tan and gradually fade away. If your going on Vacation to someplace warm or tropical you can have a little more fun and I recommend a tan extender to take with you to keep a safe glow going. But in Seattle this time of year now thru New Years soft and glowing is just the ticket! So remember to do good prep and it will keep people guessing because it will look so natural and pretty they won't guess its Faux Tan! I have had a wide range of clients over the years from those who have had skin cancer to those who are heading out for a Caribbean vacation to Vegas for a girls weekend.
I think the reasons are many here in Seattle but to me I love it when its just for you and a lifestyle you choose over going to tanning beds. Lately the biggest thing I hear from new clients of mine is " I didn't realize you could get such a natural looking spray tan" people if you have not had an airbrush or spray tan in at least a year or more...its time to give it a try again. My personal fave is when others can't figure out what you did because its so pretty and compliments you and your skin...Makes your smile brighter and eyes just sparkle. Now thats a good spray tan...sorry Snooki! Your tan at the VMA's tonight made me cringe...Yikes. On the other hand Katie Perry and Lady GaGa looked sooo pretty in exchange for their normally fair complexion. So next time you look in the mirror and want a little pick me up or if your heading to Hawaii, Cabo or maybe a family reunion...try a little sunless for your occasion! Happy Sunless! Ok so I just dated myself but those dang commercials from the 70's and 80's stick with you man....catchy!!
One thing I can say about summer even if were sun challenged like here in Seattle is that skin with a little bit of color or alot depending on your skin tone of course looks better in shorts, mini's and cute sundress's...period! It helps camo those darn spider veins, bruises, cellulite and well makes your legs look longer and leaner in your shorts...YES please :) God did not give me the long legs I ordered darn it. Even better if your going on Vacation and are going to be swimsuit bound show off that hot body you worked so hard at the gym with some sunless love as it accentuates the muscles even more...Think body builders but not so extreme of course. For those of you who maybe have not had time to hit the cardio like you should well I can help there to as my Mom has always said " Tan skin looks better than white skin hands down" well she actually used a different word but you get the picture! :) Cheers to those "Short short's" of summer! It may be cold still and blah here in Seattle for the most part but many of my clients are going on vacation to fun places where putting on a bikini or a pair of shorts can be to say the least a little intimidating or down right scary for some gals!
Thats where I can swoop in and either take the edge off the pasty winter skin or give you a littlle somethin somethin to wow the locals when you arrive and fit right in. Keep in mind that a sunless tan will NOT protect you from the sun once you arrive so bring the sunscreen and lather up!! |
